Rainwear can absorb water simply because it is dirty. First, try cleaning the clothes with Nikwax Tech Wash®, and if they are fairly new or have recently been reproofed, cleaning alone will help reinforce lasting hydrophobicity (DWR). But if the clothing is already worn out, you need to renew its DWR layer by using Nikwax TX.Direct® after cleaning it with Nikwax Tech Wash®.

Nikwax TX.Direct® Spray-On can be easily and quickly applied, and the hydrophobic layer (DWR) forms as it air dries. There is no longer a need to tumble dry the clothing, saving energy and protecting older, more delicate garments from high temperatures. Nikwax TX.Direct® Spray-On has been specially designed and optimized for breathable waterproof clothing: it leaves a flexible hydrophobic layer on individual fibers, allowing moisture vapors to escape while maintaining breathable properties.

The atomizer application allows for direct care of the areas that need it most (e.g., elbows or jacket seams) without compromising the membrane's moisture transfer capabilities.

For best results, remove all non-washable items before waterproofing and wash with Nikwax® Tech Wash®. The product can be applied to damp surfaces – no need to dry them before waterproofing.

• Protect the area where waterproofing is being done from getting dirty. Lay clean damp clothing flat.
• Hold the product about 15 cm away from the clothing.
• Apply the product generously and evenly to the outer side of the fabric.
• Wait for 2 minutes. Remove excess product with a damp cloth.
• Check to ensure that the entire surface is thoroughly covered with the product.
