The winch has a heavy duty automatic friction brake. The winch has no plastic drive components making it an extremely successful design and ensuring years of trouble-free operation. The gearbox, motor and relay box are additionally sealed to prevent water ingress. The relay box can be mounted anywhere on the vehicle, by default it can be bolted to the winch bars above the rope. The winch is CE safety certified and comes with a 24-month door-to-door warranty (the winch is collected for service by courier at our expense) as well as a full after-warranty service.
