The Fenix CL28R outdoor lamp is the first lighting model from Fenix that allows the colour temperature of the light to be varied continuously from 2700 to 6000 K. The lamp emits a white light of 2000 lumens and a 160° angle, useful for illuminating a wide scene, work area or camping. With its compact form factor, the ability to be attached in several ways and a capacious 10,000 mAh battery, the Fenix CL28R halogen effectively bridges the gap between camping lamp and industrial halogen.

The white light source is a COB LED emitter with a maximum output of 2,000 lumens, allowing it to illuminate an area with an ultra-wide angle of 160° at a distance of up to 50 metres. The simple design of the COB LED board allows it to generate a powerful flux (it has a much better lumens-per-watt ratio) while consuming little energy, which makes this type of emitter increasingly replacing traditional halogens. The most important feature of the COB LED wafer is that it emits a uniform beam of light with a high optical density. A COB LED emitter consists of multiple LEDs grouped and connected together directly on a single chip/board - hence the name COB (Chip On Board).
The user has a choice of 3 brightness settings for the white light: high (2000 lumens), medium (1000 lumens), low (10 lumens), and 2 red light modes, i.e. continuous light and flash with a light output of 9 lumens, thus allowing the lighting to be customised. It is worth noting that the total operating time of the torch in the 2000 lumens turbo mode is nearly 9 hours! A large knurled knob is used to change the brightness level.
The light emitted by the red LED is perfect for tasks requiring night vision, and can also act as an emergency or rescue light. A separate button located on top of the lamp is used to activate the red light.
The most unique feature of the Fenix CL28R photographic lamp is the light's colour temperature adjustment system, which allows the colour of the light to change smoothly from 2700 K to 6000 K. Thanks to this functionality, the Fenix CL28R lamp will be ideal as a light for night photography. The warm colour of the light has a very high CRI, so that objects photographed in this light have such natural colours as if they were illuminated by sunlight. Infinitely variable adjustment of the light colour is carried out via a knurled knob.
The built-in battery with an impressive capacity of 10,000 mAh provides up to 15 days of continuous illumination in low mode or up to 9 hours in turbo mode (total time). It is worth noting that the CL28R outdoor light can also act as a power bank to charge our phone or tablet. The built-in USB-C port with QC protocol charges the huge 10,000 mAh battery in just 4 hours. The socket is protected from moisture, water and dust by a rubber plug. We can check the battery level at any time. To do so, simply switch off the torch and press the orange button (used to activate the red light) once. A LED indicator for 3 seconds informs us of the battery level as follows:

The CL28R's swivel halogen mount operates 360° and also has a magnetic base and threaded socket, allowing the lamp to be attached to metal surfaces and mounted on any photographic tripod. The CL28R is drop resistant from 1.5 metres and IP66 rated, so it is a robust and reliable tool that can be relied upon whatever the conditions.
